To spend my birthday knitting....

...watching dvds and playing the sims (yes, all at once) seems a wonderful luxury.  I should be doing some housework today and I will do a little bit of tidying up, but for now I'm going to enjoy my knitting and movies.

Today I am working on a pattern I found at the Lincraft (an Australian sewing and craft chain - the site has a fair number of free patterns so worth checking out) website: a Beanie with Rosette that looks kinda cute.  I'm not following the pattern exactly in that I've made the headband part a different colour to the main part of the beanie just to see how that looks.  This beanie is an experiment, so I'm not sure if I'll keep it myself.  Might give it to Nichy, a friend who's staying with us, if she likes it, but I may keep it for myself.

What I am considering is my sister Helen's birthday in April.  I've now done projects for my sister Roz's birthday last year and for my brother for Christmas, now I think it needs to be Helen's turn.  Not entirely sure what I'll do, but the beanie is cute, plus I thought I could do wristwarmers and perhaps a scarf or a shawl.  She works from home at her computer and it can get cold in winter, so I'm thinking of what she can use for that.  But we'll see.  Have to do some experimenting before the final projects anyway.
